The countdown until the next season of Game of Thrones has been going on for quite some time now, and yet, fans are still frantically deliberating over what will happen next.
Season seven ended in August 2017 – over a year ago – and viewers aren’t likely to see the first part of season eight until 2019.
This would be the longest break between seasons in Game of Thrones history, but that hasn’t stopped people from offering up their theories on what’s going to happen next.
It seems as though most fans believe that Daenerys (played by Emilia Clarke) won’t make it all the way through season eight.
In a recent poll conducted by Express.co.uk, viewers had their say on what they think Daenerys’ fate will be, and it doesn’t look good for her since 30 per cent of voters believe that she will die in childbirth.
This could very easily be the case, especially after Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Daenerys started a new romantic relationship that could very easily result in a child.
Never mind the fact that they are related, Game of Thrones has a history of characters dying at childbirth; Jon’s mother for instance.
Fans of Daenerys would hope that everything would be done in order to make the birth as safe as possible should she and Jon have a child together, but the Game of Thrones universe isn’t known for its cleanliness.
On the other hand, 27 per cent of voters reckon Danerys will take the Iron Throne, which would be a much more uplifting ending.
But, then things take another turn since 19 per cent of people envisage a future where Jon kills Daenerys.
